Expressroom IC
:
The Ins and Outs of Expressroom IC
Expressroom IC incorporates Expressroom’s Document Assistant option that allows intelligence analysts to use familiar software tools, including Microsoft Office programs, PhotoShop and many other standard software packages, to create and enter content. This eliminates having to learn new software applications or deal with tedious and error-prone cut-and-paste methods. For output, the XML-powered Expressroom IC automatically converts content to HTML, PDF, XML, and RTF – realizing the “write once, deliver anywhere” power of XML-based digital media. Expressroom IC comes with pre-configured, easily customizable automation, workflow and schemas, enabling out-of-the-box startup and quick configuration to the exact business process requirements of a specific network. The seamless interface with desktop applications, along with the powerful Expressroom workflow engine, deliver unparalleled ease-of-use along with business process enforcement, ensuring that properly authorized intelligence is disseminated to the appropriate consumers. Expressroom IC’s export feature supports quick and easy “sneaker-netting” of intelligence products to other networks – an extremely important feature in those cases where, for security reasons, networks cannot be interconnected. An embedded search engine in Expressroom IC makes it easy to find documents, text and any other content element in both Expressroom IC itself, and on the resulting Web sites. The search feature also allows users to create a tailored, customizable index for fast searches. Expressroom IC also features a unique “dirty word checker” to prevent the inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information. Systems administrators can use an independent, low-level software module built into Expressroom IC to check, for instance, a document’s security classification. If the classification is not appropriate for the intended output, the system will refuse to process the document. Finally, Expressroom IC can integrate with other technologies through well-documented APIs.
